The public outburst came after Mr Murdoch had already asked his wife to tone down comments about their personal life on Twitter.
"@rupertmurdoch saying i should stop embarasing him on twitter! :)," she tweeted.
Mrs Murdoch had initially praised her octogenarian husband?s efforts announcing that she was ?very proud of @rupertmurdoch for getting on twitter. never too old to start!!!?
In the light of the phone hacking scandal it appeared not all comments were favourable although Mrs Murdoch?s biggest irritant was the misspelling of her first name.
?Dear twitter friends - its wendi with an i. thx? was quickly followed ?sorry didnt mean to sound rude, just seeing lots of tweets with a y and the misspelling has always irritated me!?
There was a single terse reference to Mrs Murdoch?s moment of global fame when she counter-attacked the comedian Jonnie Marbles who tried to push a custard pie in her husband?s face during phone hacking questions by MPs
?Thank you for messages telling me the man with the pie who attacked my @rupertmurdoch is on twitter but i dont want to know more?.
She did manage to attract some followers. Missmcottee, an Oxford graduate who may or may not be looking for a leg up in her career, had her comment ?retweeted? by Mrs Murdoch. ?Wendi Deng is my new favourite tweeter of all time?.
Not letting go of her fondness for the Murdochs Missmcotte added: ?Massive respect for @rupertmurdoch on Twitter - hope the haters don't scare him off.?
